Le choix de travailler sur un lieu comme la rue, a été déclenché par un défi. Celui de travailler et d’organiser un espace variable, qui pousse à philosopher sur des contraintes et des enjeux politiques, sociaux, économiques et écologiques qui sont incessamment remis en question. La rue est indomptable, le projet ne peut être qu’une proposition éphémère qui se modulera au grès du temps. I chose to work in the street because of the challenges. I want to work on and organize a variable space; this forces me to reflect on political, social, economical and environmental constraints which are always being called into question. The project is an ephemeral proposition that will change with time.
Je propose d’installer dans la rue un amphithéâtre en hauteur. La structure est entièrement en grille (8,30m de haut, 5m de large et 24m de long). La forme de cet aménagement rappelle la coque d’un bateau, elle ne touche pas les façades d’immeuble (environ 1m de décalage). Pour résoudre la contrainte de vis à vis entre les habitants de la rue et cet aménagement, des plantes grimpantes sont disposées les longs du treillage, comme des filtres. La variation de densité de la végétation permet à la lumière d’atteindre graduellement la rue piétonne à sa partie inférieure. Les plantes transforment le squelette de cette cage en nid-végétal.
I propose to install an amphitheater high in the street. The structure is made of a grid (8.30 m high, 5m wide and 24m long). The form looks like hull of a boat; it’s close (about 1 m away) to the facades of the buildings. To resolve the "face to face" constraints between the inhabitants of the street and the visitors to this piece of architecture, climbing plants are arranged along the grid, like filters. The changes in density of the vegetation allow the light to gradually reach the lower part of the street. Plants transform the skeleton of the cage into a nest of vegetation.
